Ben & Jerry’s goes Fair Trade

Vermont’s famous ice cream company has begun a new journey in their ice cream making process. The company announced last year its commitment to going Fair Trade by 2013 and they are currently using fair trade products “when they are available” according to the website.  From October 1st to October 22nd they will be visiting 12 universities around the United States and giving out samples of their fair trade flavors which includes one of my favorites Milk & Cookies. Their new controversial ice cream flavor Schweddy Balls using fair trade vanilla and they have recently released their %100 fair trade flavor Coconutterly Fair, which is chocolate ice cream with coconut caramel swirls and a chocolatey carmel crunch. The flavor and the fair trade both sound amazing.
